At St Andrews Taxis, we believe in more than just getting people from A to B. We’re proud to support local charities, community initiatives, and campaigns that make a difference in St Andrews and across Fife. Here are a few of the causes we’ve backed over the years.

Oor Space

Oor Space is an extraordinary initiative founded by locals who understand the struggles of addiction and mental health firsthand. Supported initially by Fife Council’s Participatory Budgeting, this community-led initiative provides crucial support services in the East Neuk area. Operating a drop-in café every Thursday at Anstruther Lower Town Hall and expanding to St Monans Town Hall on Mondays, Oor Space serves as a safe haven for those seeking help and companionship.

In addition to the café, Oor Space connects its members with other vital services and enriching activities, like workshops and classes. Their work stands as a powerful example of how grassroots initiatives can fill crucial gaps in public services, particularly in smaller communities where resources may be scarce.

St Andrews Taxis proudly backs this valuable cause, offering discounted fares and other logistical support to aid Oor Space in its mission to better the lives of individuals battling addiction and mental health issues.

Glenrothes Strollers Ladies Football Club

Since its inception in June 2010, Glenrothes Strollers Ladies Football Club has rapidly emerged as a local powerhouse in women’s football. With teams competing across several age groups—from Under 9’s to Under 15’s—this thriving club in the East Region leagues of the SWF has achieved much, including various league and cup honours. The club fosters an inclusive atmosphere, encouraging girls of all skill levels to participate, guided by a dedicated team of first-aid trained and PVG-checked volunteer coaches.

The club is not just about football; it’s a community initiative that prides itself on the development of young talent and inclusivity. The coaching staff focus on creating a learning environment that is as enjoyable as it is rigorous. Volunteering is deeply embedded in their ethos, extending beyond coaching roles to include all aspects of community club management.

St Andrews Taxis is a proud supporter of this exceptional club, particularly sponsoring footballer Demi Gear. Through our sponsorship and donations, we aim to play a part in the continued success and growth of Glenrothes Strollers Ladies Football Club.

Sunshine Kitchen

Sunshine Kitchen is a fantastic local social enterprise that gives young adults with additional support needs the opportunity to develop confidence, independence, and valuable life skills through cooking. Based in Cupar, the team runs a thriving kitchen where participants help prepare and sell delicious, healthy meals made with local ingredients.

Their work isn’t just about food, it’s about creating purpose, connection, and dignity. You’ll often find Sunshine Kitchen at community events, farmers’ markets, and delivering to regular customers across North East Fife.

We’re proud to support Sunshine Kitchen with transport when needed and occasional financial donations. It’s a privilege to play a small role in helping this inspiring team continue what they do best: bringing sunshine (and excellent food) into people’s lives.

Carnbee & Arncroach Community Council

St Andrews Taxis is proud to extend its community involvement by supporting the Carnbee & Arncroach Community Council. Recognising the vital role that community councils play in representing local interests and facilitating community engagement, we have contributed by providing essential digital infrastructure. Our donation includes the domain name, web hosting, and web design, all expertly managed by our in-house design team.

By offering these services, we aim to empower the community council to better serve local residents, engage in constructive dialogues, and manage projects more effectively. We believe that in strengthening the digital presence of community organisations, we are contributing to a more connected and informed community. Through initiatives like this, St Andrews Taxis continues to show its commitment to the social fabric of St Andrews and its surrounding areas.

St Monans Coastwatch

St Monans Coastwatch, established in 2011, operates from the historic windmill in the village of St Monans. As part of Coastwatch Scotland and the Sea Safety Group, it boasts full Declared Facility Status with HM Coastguards. Under the skilled leadership of Operations Manager John Kinsman, a former auxiliary coastguard, the team of eight volunteers diligently covers an area stretching from Pittenweem to Lower Largo. The crew is on duty daily, ensuring the coastline remains as secure as possible.

Our sponsorship for this indispensable group includes reduced taxi fares to assist volunteers in carrying out their vital coastline monitoring duties. We also make financial donations, furthering their impact on local sea safety. This cooperation underlines our commitment to community initiatives that make a real difference in the lives of residents and visitors alike.

With a dedicated team and a commitment to safety, St Monans Coastwatch plays an irreplaceable role in our community. We at St Andrews Taxis are immensely proud to contribute to their continued success.
