Today, we’re diving into the nitty-gritty of the Digitax Taximeter F2, breaking down its features step-by-step. Whether you’re a seasoned cabbie or fresh behind the wheel, this one’s for you!
1. Understanding Your Taximeter’s Basics
Our taximeter has:
- Five Keys: OP, K1, K2, K3, K4
- Three Working Modes: For Hire, Hired, and Stopped.
Switching between these modes? Just tap that trusty OP button!
2. The ‘For Hire’ Mode: Making Yourself Available
When your cab’s empty or you’re cruising around, this is your go-to mode.
- OP toggles to ‘Hired’ mode when a ride begins.
- K3 gives you the date and time – super handy! (Note: RTC version only)
- K4 provides the year (RTC version only).
3. ‘Hired’ Mode: You’ve Got a Passenger!
Your roof sign dims, and the meter starts tallying the fare.
- OP will shift you to ‘Stopped’ mode at ride’s end.
- K1 cycles through tariffs.
- K2 & K3 add in extras.
- K4 clears any extras added mistakenly.
4. ‘Stopped’ Mode: Fare Calculation Time
After stopping, extras can still be added before finalising.
- OP returns you to ‘For Hire’.
- K1 to K4 adds various extras, depending on your settings.
5. Powering Off and On
- On 32 Block F2 and F2 RTC: Press K2 and K4 together to turn off. For 4 Block F2, it’s the K1 button.
- OP revives the meter!
6. Setting Time & Date (RTC Version)
In ‘For Hire’ mode, press K1 & K3 simultaneously.
- Adjust day with K1, month with K2, hours with K3, and minutes with K4.
- Set the year with OP, then fine-tune with K1 and K2.
Remember, some setups might have disabled this feature.
7. Currency Conversion
In ‘Hired’ and ‘Stopped’ modes, tap K3 to swap between Euros and your local currency (if enabled).
8. Memory Features
Your taximeter has a phenomenal memory! It records in 2 blocks, each with 7 sections:
- Trips, units, miles in different modes, waiting hours, fare income, and extra income.
To navigate this data:
- In ‘For Hire’, press K1 & K2.
- Adjust with K1 & K2, switch blocks with K3, and wrap up with OP.
9. Printing & Erasing Memory
Got a printer attached? Retrieve and print memory data by toggling with K1, K2, and K4 in the ‘For Hire’ mode. Clear out Block 1’s memory using K4.
